In general, for membrane processes more cost-effective research efforts should focus on:
ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY
- Improving Membrane Permeability - Developing membranes with high permeability’s (and therefore low areas) reduces the cost of CO2 capture
- Improving Membrane Production Processes - CO2 capture systems should benefit from economies of large-scale production and mass-production processes must be created so that they membranes cheap to create
- Improving Carbon Capture Process Design - optimizing operating conditions to improve CO2 capture must also be considered
